Large-Scale In-Situ Thermal Desorption of Refinery Hydrocarbon Contamination at Gela Refinery, Italy

Up to 80,000 m³ of soils contaminated with hydrocarbons and mercury were treated through a multi-batch In-Situ Thermal Desorption program, demonstrating the effectiveness of ISTD for large-scale refinery remediation while achieving the cleanup objectives required by Italian regulations.
